First passengers take the HS1 train to London

passengers wait to board the new Class 395 high speed train service from Ashford to London St. Pancras board the train at Ashford International Station, Ashford, Kent, 29th June 2009. The service run by Southeastern will cut journey times from Ashford to 37 minutes, stopping only at Ebbsfleet on the way to the capital. This trial service preceeds the full service which is scheduled to start in December 2009.
